This is a avery special Rolex for numerous reasons. Firstly, it is an early Rolex Datejust reference 6105 referred to as an Ovetone. This reference has become quite collectible and hard to come by. This watch is also double signed with the retailer Serpico Y Laino. The dial, as well has the case back have S & L markings. I also very much love the all RED date wheel on this watch. All of these factors make this a very special and rare Datejust Ovetone. The overall condition of the watch is also top notch. The Rolex Ref. 6238 typically comes with a silvered dial. This particular configuration in stainless steel with black dial is among the most rare examples out there. This is a very well-preserved Rolex Prince custom made for the "1/4 Century Club" to commemorate 25 years of service for Eaton & Co. This watch was in fact a special request from Eaton & Co and the dial presents the signature Eaton instead of the classic Rolex. The Eaton department store was one of Canada's biggest retailers at the time. Between 1930 and 1960, these "1/4 Century Club" watches were given to loyal employees for 25 years of service.
