This is quite a special watch and we are super happy to offer it here. It is an early Rolex Datejust, also known as an Ovettone or large Bubbleback, from the early 1950's. Aside from being in exceptional condition there are so many special characteristics about this watch. Firstly, the dial is a very rare variant which is devoid of the word Datejust and also has 'Officially Certified Chronometer' on the lower half of the dial with the word Officially in RED. The dial has aged beautifully with a consistent warm color patina. The date wheel also shows all RED date numbers, not the usual roulette date wheel that switches from red to black. Collectors really like the red date wheel and the officially written in red. This gorgeous dial is surrounded by an early coin edge bezel which is super sharp and looks to never have been polished. Aside from the watch itself being so rare and special the original Rolex 'Beads of Rice' solid gold bracelet is a collectors item in its own right. The clasp is fully hallmarked and the bracelet itself has no stretch. This watch is an incredible piece of Rolex Datejust history.
