Rare Rolex Day-Date Seafoam Green Stella Dial - Ref. 18038

Some watches just take your breath away when you look them, this is one of them!  We are very proud to present  this exceptionally rare and mesmerizing example of a  Rolex Day-Date Reference 18038 featuring an original, breathtaking "Seafoam Green" (Mint Green) lacquer Stella dial.  Introduced by Rolex in the 1970s and continuing into the early 1990s, Stella dials were a radical departure from conservative watchmaking. Crafted from multi-layered, liquid enamel-like marine lacquer mixed by hand, these dials boast a rich, glossy depth that cannot be replicated by modern manufacturing techniques.  Because they were costly to produce and vastly misunderstood by the conservative buyers of the era, production numbers were minuscule.  Among the color spectrum, the soft, pastel aesthetic of Seafoam Green remains one of the absolute rarest and most highly coveted variants.  As a Reference 18038, this piece offers the perfect cross-section of vintage charm and modern daily utility. It replaces the old acrylic crystals of the 1970s with a completely flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and utilizes a entirely flat dial plate. Furthermore, it introduces the highly convenient single quickset date function, allowing you to independently advance the date window with a simple click of the crown.  This dial features the highly sought-after "T SWISS MADE T" print signature at the 6 o'clock position, dating this piece beautifully to the golden era of 1980s flat-dial Stella production. This dial is in pristine condition, retaining its uniform, mirror-like high gloss. Aside from the incredible dial, the case on this watch is just as nice.  The solid 18kt yellow gold case has not been polished, shows a little patina on the gold and all hallmarks are as crisp as can be.   The watch comes on a solid gold Rolex rivet oyster bracelet.
