Rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual - Ref. 1026

The Reference 1026 is an incredibly rare, 34mm solid 18kt yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Rolex  from the late 1950s and 1960s. The specific pattern on its bezel is a vintage finish that collectors refer to as a "Chine" bezel or a fine-grooved brick texture.  The "Chine" bezel features an intricate, busy pattern of overlapping parallel and perpendicular lines. Rather than mimicking tree bark, this technique involves a series of random slashes engraved into the solid gold, giving it a textile-like or woven texture that catches light in a distinct, cross-hatched pattern.  This textured design was incredibly time-consuming to execute and was reserved exclusively for rare, special-order solid gold references during the mid-20th century.   The all original gold champagne dial has a lovely tone to it with applied faceted stick markers and gorgeous original Dauphine hands.  The watch even has its original and dated in the clasp solid gold Rolex stretch rivet Oyster bracelet.    This is an incredible opportunity to own a uniquely styled, investment-grade vintage Rolex that stands completely apart from the crowd.
