Rolex 18kt Yellow Gold 'Veriflat' - Ref. 6512

This watch is a rare Rolex Oyster Veriflat  Reference 6512 in 18k yellow gold. Produced for a very brief window from roughly 1954 to 1962, the Veriflat holds the absolute distinction of being the thinnest Oyster-cased watch Rolex has ever manufactured.  To achieve its ultra-slim profile, measuring just 9 mm thin, Rolex completely modified their first in-house architecture—removing the automatic winding rotor from the caliber 1030 to create the bespoke, manual-wind Caliber 1000. This specialized movement allowed for a entirely recessed, flat caseback. Exclusively delivered in solid precious metals, this particular example stands out with its highly desirable, recessed sub-seconds dial configuration and elegant faceted alpha/dauphine hands.  The original silver dial has even aging throughout with original lume in the hands as well on an the dial markers.   The solid yellow gold case is in good condition with its hallmarks cleary visible.
