Zenith Pink Gold Dress Watch - 1950's

This is a wonderful unpolished and crisp solid rose gold Zenith dress watch from the 1950's.  Aside from the textured two tone dial which is fantastic, the case is a real show stopper.  The case design of this Zenith is the absolute star of the show. It is a textbook example of mid-century Swiss horological art, an era when watch cases were treated as expressive jewelry rather than just functional containers for a movement.  The lugs feature a distinct scalloped or stepped horn design.  If you look closely at where the lugs meet the round case body, there is a beautifully executed fluted indentation. The dial on this watch is also exceptional.  It features a clean, silver-white  textured dial with applied gold baton/stick hour indices. The elongated, elegant stick hands sweep over a minimalist central time display without a date window.  A manual wind caliber 106-50-8 powers this wonderful vintage pink gold Zenith dress watch.   The only flaw I can find on this watch is the crown.  I do believe it to be original but it has lost some of its plating.  Since it is original as well as everything else on the watch,  we decided to leave the original crown as is.   This unusual Zenith watch also comes with its original box.
