Rolex Pre-Daytona Chronograph Ref. 6238

Here we have a fantastic Rolex Pre-Daytona Chronograph reference 6238 from 1963.  This reference is considered a transitional model linking the early Rolex chronographs to the well-known Rolex Daytona Cosmographs.  There was even an overlap in time when Rolex was making both the 6238 as well as the 6239. The watch we have here is a first generation 6238 which looks almost exactly like the 6234 Rolex chronograph which came right before it.  This early 6238 has dagger hands like the 6234 as well as ‘Oyster Chronograph and Anti-Magnetic ‘written on the dial. The dial on this watch is all original and in excellent condition with a beautiful blue Telemetre scale. This beauty is powered by the iconic caliber 72B Valjoux manual wind movement.  This important Rolex chronograph comes on its original and dated Rolex rivet Oyster bracelet.
