Launched in 1968, the Ellipse broke away from traditional watch shapes, using the mathematical "Golden Ratio" to achieve perfect, timeless visual harmony. This particular execution is a masterclass in textures, pairing a vibrant blue dial with a spectacular, hand-woven white gold mesh bracelet.    The solid 18kt white gold case is unpolished and features a fantastic integrated bracelet.  The  incredibly detailed, integrated 18kt white gold "chain-link" bracelet was  produced by the highly  regarded  master goldsmith, Jean-Pierre Ecoffey for Patek Philippe.   The workshop's creations can be identified by a small "JPE" maker's mark stamped discreetly on the interior of the watch clasp.  Ecoffey's hallmark talent was his unparalleled ability to manipulate precious metals like 18kt yellow and white gold  that result in  intricate lattice, mesh, and chain-link bands feeling  fluid, supple, and as soft as silk fabric on the bare wrist.  The blue Sigma dial is just as special as the bracelet.  The dial is pristine with its blue sunburst finish and white gold applied hour markers.  A caliber 23-300 PM manual wind movement powers this rare beauty.
