Matthew's Notes
Here we have an incredible FULL SET Audemars Piguet 18kt white gold dress watch from the 1960's. This rare modernist timepiece features a square mid-case flanked by a heavy, architecturally designed stepped and ribbed bezel with distinct vertical groove lines. The watch has a matching silvered dial with a textured vertical linear guilloché pattern that flows perfectly into the lines of the white gold case. This incredible unpolished case was designed for Audemars Piguet by the premier Genevan case making master Ed Wenger whose hallmark is clearly visible inside the caseback. This exceptionally well preserved watch houses the ultra thin high-grade Audemars Piguet Caliber K2001 manual wind movement. Aside from the the form and exceptional condition of this watch, it comes fully complete! I rarely find watches these days that are unpolished and come with their original box, papers, strap and buckle. Having the original box, matching papers, crisp unpolished ridges, and the original 18k white gold AP buckle makes this watch an absolute "collector grade" set. Mid-century Audemars Piguet watches were made in extremely low production quantities, finding a complete time-capsule set from 1967 is incredibly rare.
