Audemars Piguet Stainless Steel Ref. 5273

This is an excellent and very rare example of the Audemars Piguet reference 5273 in stainless steel. The watch has great proportions, measuring 34mm in diameter and only 5.9mm thick, giving it a very elegant look on the wrist. The pristine dial is simply signed “Automatic” and has a great understated appearance. The watch is powered by the high-grade Audemars Piguet caliber 2120, based on the legendary ultra-thin Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 920. This movement is historically important and was also used by Audemars Piguet in the original Royal Oak reference 5402. The same movement architecture was used by Patek Philippe for the caliber 28-255 C found in the original Nautilus reference 3700.  What I really like about this watch is its simplicity. There are no complications and nothing unnecessary on the dial. It is just a great-looking, ultra-thin automatic Audemars Piguet in stainless steel.  The watch is fitted with its original stainless steel Audemars Piguet bracelet, which has a great design and really completes the look of the watch.  The bracelet retains its original buckle, correctly signed “AP.”
