Matthew's Notes
Offered here is an exceptional example of the legendary Patek Philippe Reference 2526, widely regarded by collectors as the "grail" of vintage automatic Calatravas. Introduced in 1953, the 2526 was Patek Philippe’s first self-winding wristwatch. It represents a watershed moment in horological history, combining the pinnacle of mid-century design with the groundbreaking Caliber 12-600AT movement. This specific timepiece features an 18k yellow gold, 36mm screw-down case, which was remarkably ahead of its time in size and durability. The cream-colored porcelain enamel dial—the signature feature of the 2526—is in pristine condition, showing no signs of cracks or fissures, retaining its original sheen. What is so special about this particular watch dial is it's double signature with Gubelin. The dial has the Patek Philippe Signature as well as the Gubelin signature just about the subsidiary seconds at 6 o'clock. This special and rare watch comes with its Archive from Patek Philippe.
