Rolex Gold Shell Bubbleback Ref. 2764

This is a fantastic looking vintage Rolex Bubbleback from the late 1940's. The watch has a gold filled shell case with a stainless steel back. The watch looks solid gold to the naked eye. The all original dial is what really makes this watch special. The way the original dial aged has a wonderful vintage feel with Arabic even numbers and slash markers for hour indices and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 oclock. Bubblebacks were the first automatic watch Rolex made, therefore a very special model in horological history.
