Patek Philippe Yellow Gold Ref. 2588

Here we have a  classic Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 2588 in 18kt Yellow gold, circa 1960.  The case on this watch looks to be unpolished with strong facets on the lugs and lots of patina on the case.  This watch is powered by a caliber 23-300 manual wind movement.   The original dial is silver with applied yellow gold markers.  What is neat about this watch is its band.  According to the Archive from Patek Philippe this watch was sold 'without a strap'.   The person who originally  purchased this watch then put on an incredible Patek Philippe bracelet made by Jean-Pierre Ecoffey as noted by the JPE stamp on the clasp of the signed Patek Philippe bracelet.  Jean-Pierre Ecoffey was a Geneva-based master jeweler and bracelet makers  who created many high quality gold bracelets for Patek Philippe.  JPE had the ability to make a metal like gold feel more like a soft fabric.   This wonderful suite comes with its original Patek Philippe box and Archive from Patek Philippe.
