Patek Philippe 'Drivers' Watch Ref. 139

This is a rare Art-Deco Patek Philippe reference 139 "Drivers" watch. This watch was nicknamed "Drivers" because of the horizontal layout which allows the wearer to place the watch on the side of the wrist for easy viewing of the time while driving. This reference was launched in 1933 and was only in production for approximately 3 years. To date, only 11 examples are known in yellow gold and 5 in white gold, which makes this an extremely rare timepiece. This watch retains its original faceted crystal which follows the shape of the rectangular case. The hinged case-back reveals underneath a manual wind caliber 8-85 movement.
