Movado for Cartier Yellow Gold Ermeto Purse Watch Circa 1950's

This is a wonderful Movado Ermeto with a double signed dial by Cartier, from the 1950's. An Ermeto watch is a pocket/purse watch which Movado manufactured starting in the 1920's all the way up until the 1980's. This timepiece was made to be used on a chain, to be placed in a pocket/purse or as a desk or bedside clock as it has a folding hinged strut in the back of the watch to prop it up. . Ermeto's were made in various metals but the watch we have here is solid 18kt yellow gold with a beautiful guilloche texture to it. The square dial is 2 toned silver with a Movado as well as a Cartier signature. Cartier numbers and Cartier NY is also stamped inside the case. This is a manual wind timepiece that can be wound by the crown or by the opening and closing of the gold case. This wonderful piece of Movado/Cartier history comes with its original Cartier fitted box.
