Cartier Tank Palissandre de Rio - Ref. 20611

This is a highly attractive and unusual Cartier Tank Palissandre de Rio reference 20611 from 1975.  This rare watch was only produced between 1975 and 1976 and believed to have a production of only 3000 pieces.    When we found this watch we were excited about its rarity but also about its condition.  In the past when I have come across these rare birds, the condition was not ideal.  This particular watch is nearly perfect with its original crown and tang buckle.  The condition is outstanding for a watch made of wood from this era.  The case is made of 18kt electroplated  gold and Brazilian Rosewood.  The combination of the 2 materials in the classic Cartier tank shape make one special wristwatch.  The wood dial is pristine with applied gold Roman numerals.  This wonderful piece is powered by a caliber 178 manual wind movement.    This Cartier reference does not come around very often, especially in this minty condition.
