Audemar Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Moonphase Ref. 25557BA

Audemars Piguet's Quantieme Perpetuel Automatique reference 25557BA comes from a time when complicated mechanical watches were especially prestigious post the 1970's  quartz crisis.  This reference was produced in the early 1980's in a very limited production.  The diamond marker dial you see here is extremely rare and the first we have ever seen.   The octagonal bezel pays homage to the classic Royal Oak collection while the integrated gold bracelet adds comfort and elegance.  The overall condition of this rare watch is exceptional.  The case looks to be unpolished with all markings clearly visible and crisp.  The gold tone champagne dial is pristine with very understanded diamond hour markers that are a rarity on this model.  The gold mesh linked bracelet has no stretch and will fit a 7 1/2 inch wrist.   The ultra thin caliber 2120 automatic movement combined with the complication of a perpetual calendar makes this reference particulary collectible and sought after.
