Exotic IWC Ingenieur

May 19, 2015

IWC Ingenieur with orginal black dial

The IWC Ingenieur was developed by IWC in the 1950s as an antimagnetic and automatic watch for engineers and scientist that worked around heavy magnetic and electrical activity. The Ingenieur can be compared to the Rolex Milgauss, Omega Railmaster and Patek Philippe Amaganetic as they also had the same purpose. The design of the Ingenieur is timeless with a heavy water resistent screw down case and a very clean simple dial with the word "Ingenieur" surrounded by lightning bolts.

The two IWC Ingenieurs I have sourced here are very exotic as they both have black original dials. Typically the Ingenieur comes with a silver dial and to find black original dials is very difficult and extremely rare. Both watches are in mint condition and would make a great addition to any collection.

I found a great a source of information about the IWC Ingenieur at the following link: http://www.frizzellweb.com/larry/ingenieur/
