Matthew's Note
This is an extremely rare Rolex Explorer reference 6350. The watch was worn during the first successful climb of Everest in 1953. It is the first Rolex reference to include the name Explorer on the dial. It comes in a 36 mm stainless steel big bubble-back case, with a black honeycomb gilt dial, as well as classic Mercedes style hands which are all indicative features of the early model 6350’s. This timepiece is powered by an automatic Rolex A296 movement. The case back includes an inscription that reads “Saudi Arabia 1955 – 1956.” It comes on a black leather strap with stainless steel Tang Buckle.
