Matthew's Note
The origin of the first Ceinture dates back to 1927 then in 1973 Cartier re-released the model in 25mm and 27mm sizes. The following year it was released in a 31mm size. It was named Ceinture as the case looks like a belt’s buckle with a very interesting square shape featuring corners that appear to be “cut”. The winding crown leaves the classic cabochon for a completely flat one, residing in a slot in the watch bezel. This unique feature is one that Cartier calls its 'remontoir imperdable'. The dial is very minimal in the classic Cartier style with the inner closed minutes track, black Roman numerals and hidden signature in 7 oclock. This present example has a super crisp case with hallmarks on the case back visible as well as patina on the gold. The all original white Paris dial does have some minor cracking which is very common with these vintage Cartier enamel dials. This sweet ladies watch comes with a Cartier solid gold deployant buckle and Cartier strap.
