This is an incredibly well preserved Heuer Solunar with Tide Indications in stainless steel from the mid 1970's. This Heuer Solunar model ref. 279.603 began production in 1976 and lasted for 4 short years with production ending in 1980. The Solunar was a tool watch popular with sailors. It is an automatic watch with a day-date feature and powered by a Venus Caliber 2790 movement. It is has a beautiful pristine all original blue dial with a rotating inner bezel to keep track of the tides for 14 days. The outer bezel indicates cycle of the tides which occurs approximately every six hours. The condition of this watch is as close to NOS as you can get. Everything is original on the watch and the case is unpolished. It comes on a tropical leather strap with original stainless steel Heuer buckle. We even have the original Heuer box with watch originally came in.
