Matthew's Note
This is an incredible aviator's oversized Zenith Compur chronograph in 18kt yellow gold circa the 1950's. The solid gold case is sharp and very well preserved with square chronograph pushers. This oversized beauty is powered by a caliber 146 manual wind movement. Usually one will find this reference in stainless steel therefore in solid 18kt gold is quite rare and desirable. The beautiful original dial with Arabic numbers and double Tachymeter and Telemeter scales is very rare for watches of this period. It is also unusual how the dial is signed Compur, which was usually produced by Universal Geneve. During this time period, the two companies shared similar designs and components which explains why we see Compur on this Zenith watch.
