Matthew's Note
Blancpain produced a smaller line of dive watches to appeal to the civilian crowd, which was called the Bathyscape. This Blancpain Bathyscaphe was retailed by ScubaPro in the 1960s in a modest 37mm diameter size. This watch is double signed on the dial with ScubaPro which was a reseller of diving equipment back in the 1960's and 1970's. The striking all original slate grey dial features a date aperture at 3 oclock and is surrounded by a bakelite bezel. Many times these bakelite bezels are cracked and chipped up, but this one is in excellent condition. The case on this watch appears to be unpolished with strong edges all around.
