The Seafarer is one of the best collaborations between a retailer and watchmaker there is. Abercrombie & Fitch collaborated with Heuer to make a line of sporting watches beginning in the 1940's. The Solunar being the first, then followed by the incredible Seafarer which was made in numerous executions between 1950 and 1970. Here we have a mint example of a second execution reference 2443 Seafarer. This watch is not only a chronograph but also has a tide indicator at 9 oclock. The condition of the dial and case is just incredible for a tool watch like the Seafarer. We believe this case to be unpolished. This is one of the nicest A&F Heuer's we have had. These watches were sold through the Abercrombie and Fitch store and used by fishermen. Many of these watches did not fair to well since they were around lots of watch. This beauty is powered by a modified Valjoux 72 movement. We are so pleased to be offering this incredible watch.

This is a unicorn of a watch. This is a French Military Issued Breguet Type XX chronograph. In 1954, Breguet was commissioned to produce 2000 Type 20 watches, and the casebacks were engraved “Breguet, Type 20, 5101/54” for the contract number and year. This specific watch was issued in 1954 to the French Air Ministry and has been authenticated by the Breguet Museum via email. Stamped all around the case back is “FG and a date”. FG is an abbreviation for Fin de Garantie, which means “end of guarantee” and the date indicating when to bring the watch back for service. This particular watch was serviced by the military watchmakers between 1961-1982. We believe this watch to be unpolished as the case is very sharp with well defined bevels on the lugs. All the Breguet Type 20 military watches had blank dials (the name Breguet is no where to be seen) as it was a part of the Military’s requirement to ensure optimal legibility. The all original dial has nice patina and large Arabic numerals. The hands have a nice creamy patina that match the patina on the dial. Inside the case is a manual winding Valjoux caliber 222R flyback chronograph movement. Considering this watch spent many decades in the Military, it’s astonishing the current condition and is a testament to the solid construction and quality of Breguet.
|

The origin of the first Ceinture dates back to 1927 then in 1973 Cartier re-released the model in 25mm and 27mm sizes. The following year it was released in a 31mm size. It was named Ceinture as the case looks like a belt’s buckle with a very interesting square shape featuring corners that appear to be “cut”. The winding crown leaves the classic cabochon for a completely flat one, residing in a slot in the watch bezel. This unique feature is one that Cartier calls its 'remontoir imperdable'. This is a very rare model of the IWC reference 5251 Portofino Moonphase. It is unclear if this watch was called the “Portofino” or if it was only referred to by the reference number “5251”. He put the watch into production later that year and by 1987 it became the first of the Portofino line we know today. It is said that only 350 pieces were made, some examples had a solid back and some had an exhibition back.
