This is one of the most complicated chronographs made by Rolex in the 1950's and considered to be a grail amongst Rolex aficionados. It is the triple date calendar known as the "Datacompax" reference 6036. The Datacompax is also known to collectors as the Jean-Claude Killy.
This particular Rolex watch is in excellent condition with an original dial with beautiful patina. The case is unpolished and also in excellent condition. The watch is powered by the famous manual wind Valjoux caliber 72c.
This particular datacompax has a rare and highly desired dial configuration with steel sunken markers and no luminescence on the dial. Many of these steel Jean Claude Killys have gold markers which are a little more common and not as sought after as the rare steel on steel version.
This watch was purchased from the estate of the original owner, has never been in auction and is fresh to market. This Rolex Ref. 6036 comes on the original rivet oyster band.
This rare and highly collectible Rolex "Jean-Claude Killy" watch is for sale only at Matthew Bain, Inc.
